Why Liberation Still Matters

We are living through a moment of overlapping crises accelerating climate collapse, industrialized animal suffering, and the rapid degradation of the world's oceans. LOD exists because, all too often, these crises are debated without a sense of urgency or even honesty.

LOD started as an TikTok page admiring these heroes, but quickly it became evident that admiration is not enough. What is needed is moral clarity and motivation, who benefits, and why are systems creating mass suffering and who is going to stop it.

Movements like the ALF, ELF, and organizations like Sea Shepherd, did not materialize out of the blue. They rose from institutional failures corporate impunity, and the normalization of violence against nonhuman life and ecosystems.

All these movements, over time, have been simplified, sensationalized, or erased from public memory. Labels replace context, Labled as terrorist and thrown in jail, the powers that are making money off the backs of animals and the earth thought that they got rid of groups that call them out and make them notice. Newsflash, people are waking up.
